Route: Helsinki at 7.00 - Lappeenranta at 10.00 -  Vyborg at 14.00 - St Petersburg at  20.00.

Thursday7.10.2010 

At 7.00 depart from Helsinki. Drive to Lappeenranta and via Vyborg to St Petersburg arriving at 20.00. Check in at Moscow hotel. On the way the tour leader will tell about the themes of the tour, possibility to buy icon painting equipments e.g.                           

Friday 8.10.2010    

Breakfast. Depart to Academy of Art where presentation of the icon painting faculty, restauration work shop and ateljee. Local specialists are presenting their work in the Academy. After a lunch break possible to make shoppings in icon painting shops. The day ends to Aleksander Nevsky Lavra, where presentation the icon painting school of Lavra.

Saturday 9.10.2010

Breakfast. Transfer to the church of Transfiguration where presentation of so called measure icons. In this church they keep the original measure icon of Peter the Great. Measure icon was painted after a child was born and in the natural size of the child after the birth. Lecture of measure icons. The tour continues to the church of Kulisha and Pasha, where the miracle making icon of Our Lady of all Sorrowed.   After a lunch break visit the chruch dedicated to the icon of Our Lady of All Sorrowed, where G. Gashev has painted the iconostasis. He also presents the iconostasis and his ateljee.  In the evening possible to go to balleet or opera.

Breakfast. Depart for Finland. On the way shopping in Vyborg. Around 20.00 arrive at Helsinki.
