Hotel Volkhov , in Novgorod locates in the old medieval center by the rive Volhov. Hotel was constructed a few years ago and there are 118 rooms in three different floors. Itinerary
Tuesday 13.7.2010
At 6.30 depart from Joensuu. The route goes via Parikkala and Imatra to Lappeenranta where travellers from Helsinki can join to the group. (train fom Helsinki dep. 7.12 and arrive at 9.21). Drive to Nuijamaa border station where passport control. A short stop in Vyborg and Lintula where the new convent has been built now a year. Drive by St Petersburg to Novgorod, where check in at Volkhov hotel. Dinner.

Breakfast. City tour in Novgorod including Kreml area with St Sophia cathedral and famous icon exhibition, Jaroslav Court, the church of Transfiguration at Eliah street, the churches of Nativity and SIgn of Our Lady and Juriev monastery. Lunch in Juriev pordvore restaurant with folk music performance.
Thursday 15.7.2010
Breakfast. Drive 12 km to Varlaam Hutinski convent where guided tour. Back to Novgorod where free afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Friday 16.7.2010
Breakfast. At 8.30 depart for Pskov arriving at noon. Check in at Dvor Podznoeva hotel. After lunch break depart for Petchora monastery, where guided tour in the monastery and its churches. On the way back visit Izborsk.
Saturday 17.7.2010
Breakfast. Drive to Mihailovsky village where guided tour in the Museum of Pushkin and Svjatogorsk monastery. After a lunch break drive back to Pskov, where guided tour in Kreml and city center. Dinner at the hotel.
Sunday 18.7.2010
After breakfast depart for Finland. On the way a stop at Gatisna, where the castle of Gatsina. After a lunch break we drive by St Petersburg to Vyborg where shoppings and further accros the Saimenski border station via Lappeenranta to Joensuu.
